Applications for the October 2-7, 2014 conference will be accepted November 1 through June 1. We approve applications on a rolling basis so early applications are deeply appreciated and will help ensure your spot in this limited enrollment conference.
Applicants are selected solely on the basis of the work submitted. The committee will consider the strength of the submission, its likely potential, and if they believe the applicant will benefit from the conference. Publication and/or academic degrees are not required for admission.
Please note: The October, 2014 Conference is accepting applications in fiction, nonfiction, and poetry.
Your fiction or creative nonfiction application submission must consist of no more than 20 pages. Please do not remove material in order to have a “whole” manuscript. Keep the work intact even if it means you submit a partial story or chapter. The manuscript must be submitted as a Microsoft Word document, using the program’s default margin settings, and be double-spaced in 12-point Times New Roman font. Your name must appear on every page. Poets may submit up to 6 pages of poetry.
Submissions must include a cover letter that contains which genre you’re applying in (fiction, creative nonfiction, or poetry). Only submit material for the genre you plan to concentrate in at the conference (poets should not submit fiction, fiction writers should not submit poetry, et cetera). Include your email, phone number, and mailing address. Email submissions to firstname.lastname@example.org. A $30 non-refundable application fee must accompany your application and can be made via Paypal, using the recipient address email@example.com or over the phone via credit card.
