At the St. Augustine Writers Conference, you will explore your writing with a select group of faculty and peers amid the beauty of the nation’s oldest city, including its stunning beaches and ancient cobblestone streets. The 2014 conference concentrates on fiction, creative nonfiction, and poetry.
There will also be a session on film adaptation and understanding the psychological underpinnings of your characters. Our esteemed faculty features the award-winning and highly lauded writers Sascha Feinstein, Connie May Fowler, and Laura van den Berg. Our film adaptation expert is longtime Hollywood screenwriter and producer Allen Marcil. Psychologist and writer Matt Fried, who has over 30 years experience as a psychotherapist and whose creative work has been published in journals nationwide, leads our Take-Your-Characters-to-the-Shrink sessions.
Held October 2-7, 2014, the conference includes workshops, readings, discussions, and panels. You can attend sessions on how to improve your public readings, how to submit to literary journals, how to find an agent, and more. You will also have plenty of time to mingle with faculty and peers, contemplate your writing as you stroll the Ancient City’s historic streets, and sunbathe on some of Florida’s finest beaches. History, beauty, restaurants, and watering holes abound. Imagine.
